    Hello,

I have a WD 1TB external hard drive. The prong that accepts the mini-usb broke so I wanted to salvage the data on the hard drive and transfer to another HD.

I removed the parts that made it mini-usb accessible and plugged it into my computer.

It does not show up under Hard Drive Disks - and when going under computer management (compmgmt.msc) it recognizes it as 'Disk 0' and says that 931gb is unallocated and I can format it.

Is there anything I can do to access the information on this HD?

    Thank you

p.s. it is connected internally through a SATA drive and has power

Will it let you assign a drive letter?
