EXTRACTING STILLS OR CLIPS FROM A WHOLE DVD - HOW ?

    Hi

    I want to extract a small section (5 secs) from a whole feature documentary film i have because it happens to be footage of where i live. I would then like to make a couple of stills from the footage.

    Can anyone point me in some direction as to the procedure i would need to do to undertake this ?


    I'm on mac osx 3.9
