I tried to fast forward a movie but and it works for like ten seconds but then it turns black and idle and when i press play it doesn't work. the movie plays fine, but when you fast forward it it does this. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Does this happen with a series of movies, or just the one?

    so far, just on one.

    Another Question though--
what type of file does a video have to be on?
mpg, mp4, swf, mpeg, or mp4?
    Thanks

mp4, m4v & mov. But there are variations within that.

you know, terry 117, that you can add that last statement to your signature so that it puts it every time that you post. go into "my account" on the top of afterdawn and go to "edit personal information." then, towards the bottom of the page, type in what you want on the bottom of what you type, just like i have a ferarri and ipods and lethal's says lethal. just a suggestion ;-)

jazo, have you used fast forward with the wheel yet? while you're movie is playing, push the middle button to bring up the time bar on the screen. while the time bar is up, use the wheel like you would with volume of searching and go to where you want in the movie. it has never locked up on me yet. i have downgraded the firmware 1.0 so i don't know if that has anything to do with it. give it a shot, though

richoz, that option is only really any good if you need to fast-forward through large portions of a video. Another downside is that you cannot see how far you have skipped through the movie.

If you have downloaded and updated your iPod software since 10th of January, then you are running version 1.1..

No it isn't. In fact, I do my best to warn people away from the update, as it has many bugs. I suggest you restore your iPod using the updater.
