I was wondering I have winXP with a ntfs file system never had a problem backing up my dvds. my dad has winXP also but with fat32. when i loaded dvd decryptor on my dads computer it said fat32 wont support files over 2gigs.but when i loaded dvd shrink (which is the best program ever my favorite)it said nothing. every time i use shrink it locked up im not sure the lock ups are because of this but i want to know what is the scoop between these two file systems.what do i do if it is the fat32 causing problems.thx
Hi, FAT32 is a very dated file system and can only handle files up to 4GB which is why you'll get errors when you try to rip in ISO mode. WinXP was made to work best with NTFS so a conversion would be a good thing. Here's alink on how to convert and as a good measure be sure to backup important files before doing so http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307881
