OK, I am getting the FATAL INSTALL: Installation corruped: Please reinstall Nero.

Here is what I've done so far:
    1) Uninstalled Nero
    2) Ran every version of Nero's CleanTool from version 4 thru version 9
    3) Went thru registry by hand and deleted every instance of Nero, F3, delete, etc all the way thru
    4) Ran Registry Mechanic several times now

And yet, STILL, every time I open Windows Media Player 12, I see the error (also same error when closing Media Player).

Anyone have any other ideas? I'm absolutely at a loss as to what to try next and figured I'd throw this one out to the premier minds here at AfterDawn.com for some help!

    Thanks in advance! :)

Do you have a system restore point that was created before the initial installation of Nero?
If so, restore to that point then retry the installation.

No that's just it. I have NEVER had Nero installed on this PC. I just got it like a month ago. It had Vista 64 bit home premium on it when I bought it. All I did was use the Windows Easy Transfer utility to bring over my old progs from the old PC but Nero wasn't one I moved over. The stupid error message coming up is killing me because as far as I can tell there is NOTHING even related to Nero on the drive or in the registry. I upgraded this PC to Windows 7 yesterday also hoping that would alleviate the problem but no joy. :( I am going bonkers here trying to figure this problem out! :(

Close this thread. I went into the plug-ins option under Windows Media Player and there was a check box for Nero. I unchecked it and everything is working fine now. Weird! Thanks for the assist tho peoples! :)
