Is it possible to somehow disable the decoder that comes with the standard Xvid codec? I want to install and use FFDshow for playing back divx/xvid files because of its better post-processing and cpu usage, but I also rip DVDs every now and then and need Xvid installed for encoding.

    Thanks :)

Think the default priority for ffdshow is higher than XviD's anyway so XviD shouldn't be used anyway. Just unregister xvid.ax and delete it. No more XviD dshow decoder. Could also copy xvidcore.dll to ffdshows directory and uninstall XviD. You should still be able to encode to XviD via ffdshow.
