I need a program that will divide up music folder into 4.35GB sizes so I can back up my music without wasting any disc space. I've looked everywhere please help
i dont think there is such program for it. Wat i would do is make a folder of all you music and then split the folder into 4 gb parts using 7z.
http://www.redhatmagazine.com/2007/10/24/tips-from-an-rhce-splitting-tar-archives-on-the-fly/ so reading on from that why not make an archive of all the relevant files and at the same time set the archiving tool to split at whatever size you need?
i know there are programs out there that will do it. the last one i used to use was musicmatch jukebox had a data disc program that had a smart split system that you could drag a folder that had other folders in it and it would break it down into dvd size chunks without breaking up the folders either so when you went back to resore you could just drag your music folder off the dvd's to your computer. the problem is it was so long ago i dont have the program anymore and it was not free. ill keep looking for a free one. i cant compress it or do it in .rar because its around 150gb and would take FOREVER!
