I have a movie that has been broken in to 2 files, CD1 and CD2. They are both .mpg files. The problem is that CD1 is 788mb and CD2 is only 253mb. I am wondering how to link them back into one file and then split them up into 2 files that will fit on a regular cd so I can play them in my philips dvp 642. Also does anyone know of a good program to shrink exisiting avi or mpg files to a smaller size, like a handbrake type program for already compressed files? I just got this dvp and am trying to burn the majority of my movies to cd. Thanks!

Also, though I know this thread was originally by splitting files, as a Mac user - have you been able to burt .srt files to get subs with your Philips dvp-player? Seems impossible to me. I've frantically been googling and reading forums for answers, but I just don't get it.
