Finally got a successfull burn and have watched DVD and quality was good. Around half way through the film though, it keeps skipping slightly or pausing. I used Shrink 3.0 Beta 5 to do the back up (no deep analysis) and then Nero Recode to burn it. As I have been having problems I used a Packard Bell +RW to burn it. Is it skipping because disk was dirty during burn process or that when it was being encoded etc it skipped a bit? Tried cleaning disk as there were very very slight fingerprint on edge of disc but it still skips during playback. Would a deep analysis make any difference?
yes the fingerprint sounds like the culprit. Could be a media issue also. what kind of media are you using? Deep analysis won't do any thing for you. It is used when the compression is high (>30-40%) to improve the compression algorithm to get better quality that way. Doesnt do anything for bad/cheap media.
he said the brand of media, if the disc was dirty before you burned, this would cause a problem. Since it is RW, erase it and try again to see if the same thing happens.
