I'm tearing my hair out trying to find an all-in-one capturing/editing/authoring/DVD-burning program. I have about 9 DV tapes that I wish to capture, edit, and burn DVDs but no luck so far. I've spent hours downloading, installing, and (so far) uninstalling programs that do part of the job or don't work at all (Nero, PowerDirector, AVS Video Files, dvdSanta, TPMG, VirtualDub, DVD Flick, etc.) I'm willing to spend money (max $40) for such a program. I can't find a single program that does all of this. The free trial Nero 7 won't even install properly. I don't need really high quality and only simple editing (cutting out parts of the clip I don't like).

    Any ideas?

You are asking for an awful lot in one software package and all for $40. You will get far better results by using separate programs to complete each step of your project, even using free software. Most people agree that an all in one program that you are looking for would probably be not much good at anything. Try some of the free programs and the free trials that are available from this site. Good Luck.
