   Hi,
   
   I want to replace the CD drive in my laptop with a DVD burner so I can burn videos.
   
   What slim DVD drives would be compatible with my laptop running XP home edition?

   The manufacturers website should list replacement drives that would be compatable with your laptop or at least give some specs that would allow you to shop for a new drive. Personally I would leave the drive alone and buy an external DVD burner to hook up via USB.

   I ordered an LG slim DVD drive from Amazon.
   
   My USB ports are v1.0 so I didn't go that route.
   
   I already installed additional memory on this loptop
