Does anyone have any hints about issues with Finding Nemo before I attempt to back up my newly purchased copy ? I heard Disney films may have some difficulty. I use Nero6 & DvdShrink.

    Thanks

I actually learned how to rip on this movie and there didn't seem to be any problems. I used the exact programs that you mentioned and didn't have any problems. One thing I will mention though is that before you rip...check to see if you might have any problems with the MEDIA on your stand alone system. I have found that the TDK +R WONT play on my X Box but WILL play on my Apex DVD player.

    Good Luck

Nero & DVD Shrink should be fine.
Always use good quality media with Disney films as I have had issues with Disney and media before lol.

There are what I use to general backups. To makes sure you gat a good backup with Datawrites, you have to make sure the File size is about 4.3 GB or the end will freeze and pixelate.

I normaly use Ritek DVD-R with no probs, you can even overburn them without getting freezing and pixelation. Datawrite are gerneraly ok!

I used the start /end feature of shrink and didn't get the ending of the movie past "The End" of the movie. I like to back up the movie before I watch it and before the kids get their hands on it. In this case "The End" was not the end. Its on a R/W so I can have another go at it.

Using DVDshrink 3.5 beta(?) I reauthored only the movie removing any extra's or bonus material not necessary. This created a file size around 2198 as I recall. Certainly it was less than 4.3GB. I then burned it with Nero.6

It worked great. The movie starts in widescreen & with subtitles but the meu's are available to selct what aspect's you like.

    I burned to FujiFilm DVD-r 4.7GB media.

    hvsmcom,

Do you see, that's why we have forums !

Somethings work and some don't, got to have backup solutions in case something doesn't work for us -

Personally, I got Nemo to rip using Shrink 3.0 beta 5, funny that Shrink 3.1.3 wouldn't touch it and neither would Smart Ripper. DVD Decrypter worked too. Always ran it through Shrink and let the auto-burn (using Nero 6) take it to disc.

I have a stack or 2 of cheap stuff but since switching to Ritek and Verbatim + media have had no media troubles ;-))

    REBEL_AUS,

Perhaps you didn't read my post -

You might try the one that worked for me -

(I would have been very supprised if you had gotten it with Shrink 3.1.3, LOL)

I still wonder what they did to that disc or is it us ??

    REBEL_AUS,

Sometimes when they change a program they lose something in the "translation". In this case, 3.0.1 Beta5 worked well whereas the 3.1.2, 3.1.3 and 3.1.4 didn't "pony up" to the job. Try the Shrink's Home page
at http://www.dvdshrink.org. It connected this last wekend, can't get it today - I don't know if they offer past versions but you can l@@k -
