You will not loose IE if you install Firefox. Firefox is a much more secure web browser and it is highly recommended. Be sure to install certain add-ons like IE Tab. With IE Tab you can even use Firefox on Microsoft sites. Other important features are NoScript, Pop-up blockers, Adblock, and HideMyIP along with many others to choose from. You may also select different themes for your browser. Firefox is a nice browser along with Opera, and I've heard but not used Safari. Safari is available for Windows now. I thought Opera was okay, but I didn't enjoy the user interface. Personally I like Firefox, and I haven't even used IE one time in the last two years. They are easy to remove if you do not like them.
