no matter what website i go to Firefox's memory usage will slowly increase each time i access a new page, on some sites it greater then others the memory usage slowly increases until it hits 200,000kb of memory usage and crashes, i have never had this problem before, i have installed a completely new version of firefox (downgraded to 2.0.0.5) and i am still running into this issue

any help would be much appreciated

furthermore it seems that after aboutone hour of keeping Mozilla running it starts not to work any more, if i hit my home button a browse window launches asking me were i want to save the url to, this can only be change by exiting and restarting the program, no matter what version of Firefox i run this problem persists
could it be a virus? i see no other affects of a virus

Is it just me or do you find that questions asked on this site rarely get a response????
    Jarvis

I don't expect an answer to that!

jarviss depending on the difficulty of the question and the time it is posted responses will vary, but i do agree with u, i see a growing trend, people seem to skip the more difficult questions and go right to the simple ones,

however you will soon realize that afterdawn has among the most competent members and questions will get answered here that in other places there ignored

my firefox issues is still unsolved and i have opened 4 forums on 4 sites, i have an equal status on the sites....guess what.... no one has answered anywhere (i do have a temporary fix, running it in safe mode)

btw jarviss im so friending you(first you need to set up a profile)

i dont see this as a windows problem because no other programs exhibit the same behavior, it doesn;t matter what version, even if i change the process name firefox will eventually crash, i have not update any drivers
that deal with my internet connection and firefox does not have a history of bad compatibility with my wireless adapter (none should as it uses windows as a medium) so am really at a dead end

any thoughts or idea would be much appreciated

I think this issue is to do with the way ff caches content from pages.

It sounds like the temp files folder has run out of space and is being kept in ram. have a root around in the ff cache location (can't for the life of me remember where it is in windows).. I seem to remember there is a way to adjust the way ff handles content in the cache.
