Firefox keeps opening .pdf files instead of Adobe.
    Please help.
    Thank You,

    Hi kjvbible-

I don't quite understand. Are you saying that if you click on an Adobe format file while browsing, it opens it as a .pdf?

In Firefox, select Tools, Options, Applications. For the Adobe Acrobat options, what is set to open them? What about the Portable Document Format?

Did you look at Portable Document Format, as I suggested? It is set for that action by default. You need to set it to open in Acrobat Reader.

    An update:

Any gmail pdf attachments that I receive open up in the Firefox browser.
When I forward that pdf to my Frontier.com mail acct. it opens in Adobe.
    Why is that?
    Thank You,
    Gary

As I mentioned, the PDF viewer G-mail is using is the one installed in it, not Firefox. That said, I don't think the procedure linked by scorpNZ to add the extension would work but, I don't use G-mail so there's no way for me to check it out. You would have to try it. Elsewise, the link I gave you only gives you the option to switch to HTML. Doesn't say anything about being able to disable the PDF viewer. The other option would be to download the files to your hdd/ssd first and then open them.

I understand but the link identified that after you open the PDF in Gmail and tap on the PDF, there should be a Share option or another toolbar where you specify opening it in AdobeAcrobat. Did you try that?
