hey i wanna know the best firewall and virus scan i can get for free: and i would like to know the best frirewall and virus scan to buy: is it worth buying?
i did i looked around and i downloaded AVG, is that good. and i wanna know about a firewall. i had zone alarm but i didnt like it at all, i want something that will not slow down my comp
look im lookin for a virus scan thats FREE and is very good not just free tral 100% free and i need a free fire wall too. be kind enough to answer this question
as for a free virus proggy, i can't recommend any because all mine are paid programs that i acquired. if memory servers me correctly, though, ddp has a list of good ones. he might share his list...i know he has before in some other threads. again, a search may help you.
Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D are both must-haves...also, the free version of AVG is decent (i used it for a long time)...AntiVir's rating is nice, as well. give it a try and tell us how it worked.
Hey i bought the june 2005 pc user mag. and with it came Bullguard 5.0-full antivirus and firewall protection. Free six-month subscription plus 100MB online storage. Is this prog good.
as far as the free programs AVG. and zonealarm but actually the best firewall is hardware NOT software as in a firewall/router or a product called alfasheild. as the pay ones go i LIKE Trend Mirco PC-cillin Internet Secerity 2005 Great program. and norton being the WORST program period i ever used.
My ISP has a couple of PIX firewalls etc, and i have a broadband modem/router/switch all-in one with built-in NAT/firewall. I used to use software firewalls but always found them lacking, obviously especially when i went from diallup to broadband. Now hardware is the only way for me. I do use smack up to date virus protection (mcafee) though just in case. A good test is Shields Up - https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
