Hi guys. I need your help please! When my PC was built I asked for a Firewire card to be installed. But it's not working - I tried 2 different devices with different Firewire (6-pin) cables and I'm convinced it's the card. How do I checked whether it was installed properly?

    Thanks!

check in the device manager to see if the card is there & if there is an exclamation mark

My system can't find drivers for the device. I'm really at a loss to understand. I'm starting to wonder whether there's a card installed altogether! I've taken some photos of the puter - can you see anything? Are they helpful at all?

your board is a p4s800 & does not have built in firewire & you do not have a pci card in the case. the case has firewire on the front & that connector on the top picture is probably for the non-existing firewire so hope you didn't pay for the non-existing firewire

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I thought - I'll go back to the shop today and sort it out. Cheers!

PS: how easy is it to install a firewire card?
