I know you guys will help me. I just purchased a Plextor 708UF(I can't wait to use it) anyway it was supposed to be BNIB, but when I got home it was missing the instruction booklet(80 page download, that sucked!) the USB2 cord and the firewire cord. I could take it abck about a 30 min. drive, there out of stock and don't plan to have anymore in the forseeable future. They are shipping me a USB2 cord. Whats the diff between USB and USB2? they however did not have the firwire, they said it was a proprietary firewire???? can only be purchased maybe from plextor. In the booklet it says IEEE 1394 Firewire(don't use anything else other then the one in the box) anyway my "tech" friend said it would be faster to run this external drive off of the firewire...but if I can't find one..is USB2 ok? Are they all the same? are ones better then others? I need expert advice. thanks!

Take the drive back, get your money back, and don't shop there anymore, unless they say they will get you a full retail box at a reduced price, for your trouble.

what was supposed to come with the drive because on printers, printer cables are sold seperately.
