firmware question for anyone with the nec 3520 drive

    Is there a firmware that will allow you to burn dvd+r disc as dvdrom?
    Ive only used the dvd -r but keep reading where the +r burnt as rom might work in older stand alone players.Just thought I would ask before buying a spindle of the +r.
