JUST A QUEIRY REALLY A HAVE A PIONEER 105 USING FIRMWARE 1.3 IS IT WORTH INSTALLING AN UPDATED VERSION? I HAVE READ OF SOME VERSIONS THAT INCREASE RIPPING AND BURNING SPPEDS. IS UPGRADEING THE FIRMWARE RISKY I ALSO READ THAT IF THE FIRMWARE DOES NOT WORK THEN THE DRIVE IS KNACKERED AS YOU CAN'T GO BACK
First off, both of you. It is inconsiderate to type in CAPITAL letters as that is considered yelling. It always depends on what is being fixed or updated. If the firmware merely adds new media types that the burner accepts, than you would have an advantage as you can choose more media to burn to. Otherwise I have to agree with Tosca - if it ain't broke don't fix it.
