Your search string is: SONY DVD -RW DW-Q58A
i read somewere in forums here that i could use dvd decrypter to uptade my firmware,so i did and the results are as follows:

    SONY DVD RW DW-Q58A - UYS2, UYS3 / Dell OEM UDS2
    (Known Firmware: UYS2)
Use LtnRPC to reset or disable the Region Counter. Click Disable and your drive will be region free!
    OEM Liteon SOSW-8?3S laptop drive
    RPC-2

so whitch one do i use (uys3 or dell oem uds2),right now my firmware is (uys2).

Since your old firmware is UYS2 you should update it to UYS3 the higher the letter or number the latest update it is.

The drive you have is actually a lite-on drive but rebaged with the Sony Name. OEM Liteon SOSW-8?3S I would assume is the firmware you could cross flash to make the drive region free.

I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to cross flashing etc. I think the reason it list both firmware is because you can use either or on the drive.
