The Pioneer Europe site has just today put up a firmware update for the DVR-110 drive. Anyone try it out yet? Any reason I shouldn't be the first?
Can someone explain how to flash the firmware on this drive. I have searched the internet and cannot find any clear instructions on what program to use i.e. flash tool etc etc. I am new to pioneer drives be gentle.
There's no trick to it, that I'm aware of. Just download the file and run it, it's all automatic. I don't know if it's up on the PioneerUSA site yet, you will probably have to get it from Pioneer Europe.
Hey guys, I just bought a Pioneer DVR-110D last week. I noticed that there is a new firmware update from Sept 30th on the European website for firmware update 1.22. On the Japan and Australia sites there is update 1.17. I can't find any firmware updates on the US site. Are there any risks in installing a firmware update from another country's website? Are the firmware updates different for different countries or is it just the exact same file? Also, has anyone tried update 1.22 yet? There isn't a list/description of changes. Thanks. Jesse.
@JesseP If your worried about downloading it from a European site try out the firmware website... check it out http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php Good Luck
Thanks Borhan. Actually, I emailed Pioneer to find out if there was a difference between DVR-110 and DVR-110D. 110D is the OEM version that comes without software, but the drives are exactly the same. Pioneer USA has the firmware updates on their website, but they are under DVR-110: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/service/support/article/0,,2076_4249_277206650,00.html
Well, I went and did it; messed with a good thing. I had the prior firmware, 1.17, which seemed to work great. I went and put the new one on my drive, 1.22, and now it won't write to some of the cheap discs I was using [up] before. The same discs wouldn't work under the original firmware. Anyone else have the same problem? Any way to flash to an earlier firmware? EDIT: I got it off the Pioneer Europe site. Could that have been a problem?
