I have a Buffalo DVM-4244FB DVD±R drive, and i want to update its firmware. I have already downloaded the latest firmware

    http://buffalo.melcoinc.co.jp/download/driver/hd/dvm-4244fb.html

This drive is also known an OEM of Sony DW-U14A.

The problem is that when i try to update the firmware, it says that there is no updatable drive. It cannot detect my Buffalo DVM-4244FB.
But windows XP detects my drive and works perfectly well.

Is there any one who has this similar problem?
Please help me update my firmware.

    Thanks

If you're wanting to flash your existing FW with and newer one, then try "dumping" your existing FW first, and then install the newer. This usually works.
