I have a 32 gig Flash stick nearly 3/4 full. I can read it but i cannot write to it, it says remove write protection. there is no way to remove the protection and it should not be there,.... so ideas please. (i have tried alot of things already and failed :( )
I cannot format it either. hoping for lots of new ideas

have you checked the manufacturer's website to see if there is any info on your problem? i presume you checked to see if there was no physical switch like on the old 3.5" floppy disks as have see those switches on some flash drives.

Yes checked there is no switch, It's a generic one from our local supplier who's told me to throw it in the bin and he'll post one out to me. but it seems a waste to just throw it away, will take it apart when i get the replacement and see where the chip was made.I have 'chkflsh' which managed to low level initalise it but still cannot format it.

nope didn't work, perhaps it has actually failed, although until the low level initialisation i could read every thing, just not delete or write to it
