First question. I was using flashfxp, connected to my xbox. I chose the game I wanted to transfer to my pc. I clicked and dragged it. Did that cut from my xbox and paste in the folder I made. or just copy it. Ie do I have to put it back?? Second question. Can i I assume that if I ftp a game from my xbox to my pc, create an xiso image with the right software, I can then burn it onto a dvd+r? Third question What is the best software besides gdfimage, I cannot find it anywhere just the gui.
In flashfxp right click on the folder/game you want to backup and click "transfer" to the PC. Then make a ISO of that folder and burn to disc as an image file. http://www.x-b-o-x.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=493 You will need to register to download but it's free. Iso maker is very reliable for creating ISO files. Otherwise try craxtion 4.0 as long as the Net framework is installed on your computer.
You should download qwix from avalaunch it is very easy to use for making iso's. The game you transfered copied to your pc it wont need to be put back. As far as burning to dvd+r's you should be fine although i always use dvd-r's and have never had any problems.
most progs I try ask for me to back up from my xbox d drive. As it is right now the file on the pc is called pxgame23, in that folder is data folder ( containing folders ) and xbx and sab files. do I have to rename this?
xbox not reading disk, arrrgggg using cloneXB v2.3 supposed to be easy for nubs like me, I must be stupid. I think I am doing everything right. any tips, going to look for clonexb tutorial.
does it matter what kind of mod I have in my xbox. I am not burning/copying from the D drive. but from backup files in f drive.
think I figured it out, my DVD drive in the old ( penis ) shapped one. so it probly does not read DVD+r, I would be lucky if it read DVD-r. I would try to upgrade it but that is for the other forum.
You probably want to stick with DvD-R anyways. Between xboxes it is the most widely excepted media. Good brands are Verbatim and Philips.
will the old thompson drive read the DVD -R ? Can I buy a new drive that can be installed into the BOX. wrong forum I know, kind of happened organically
NO BIG DEAL...I think it's relative: Yes Yes. Try this site (one of many http://www.llamma.com/xbox/ShoppingCart/Xbox_replacement_parts.htm Scroll down and you will see three drives available for purchase from Thompson, Phillips & Samsung. Hope that helps
thanks for the link. That will go along with my plan, I am building a Monster Kick Arse PC. I will be my entire home entertainment system, Thinking I might through my 360 into the lot when I get it. I'll post picks when I build it.
