I have installed a x 2.6 and flashed it with a v3.03 bios,it goes through the motions and switches off,but when you put the xbox back on it goes straight to the bios update page-can any body point me the right direction in what i am doing wrong.
    cheers

you need to flash a 512k size hacked bios to bank 2 that is the only way you can get the x2.6 to work properly.

the bios will depend on what version xbox you have...tell me what version xbox you have and i will write you a quick tutorial on how to flash a x2.6 and what bios to use.

    you have 2 options

    1. use the newest x2 bios x2_5032 i haven't had the chance to mess around with this bios, but i do know that it is 512k in size, so you could simply flash your chip with it, and you will have to ftp the x2config.ini file onto the E or F partition.

    2. you will need a couple things for this one, you need Flashbios and Biosmanager(both found at xecuter's site) and you will also need the x2 bios x2_4983

open up biosmanager on your pc, put Flashbios on banks 1 and 2 and put the x2_4983 on banks 3 and 4, save your new bios as bios, then just flash your chip with the 1mb bios you just created over the network or create a bios flash cd and flash it that way.

if you choose option 1 and you wish to install a large hd, you will need to patch the x2config.ini file to enable lba48(xecuter's site forums has good instructions for this)
