    Hi all,

Just wanted to know what to do if i receive an error whilst trying to copy a file from a floppy disk to my hdd. I click my computer > then floppy a it then displys the files that are on the disk. It has file 1, file 2 and file 3. I have successfully copied files 2 & 3 to my hdd but i get an error whilst trying to copy file 1. It will either bring a small box saying preparing to copy showing 2 folders with a picec of paper going from one to the other. Or it will start copying but as son as it does it says "Cannot copy File 1: Data error(Cyclic Redundancy check)".

Can anybody help? It is a realy important file that i urgently need. Thanx for any help given.

    chris

ye it was definatly that error. I copied it word for word so that people would no what i was tlakin about :) thnax for the help anyway guys i will try it another comp when i can, but i bet its the floppy thats bust it makes a dodgy sounding clicking noise all the time its in there and the little green light on the floppy drive is constantly on, where as usually it would go out if i didnt try to access the files on it. But i end up having to just remove it with the light stil on as it just continuously produces this noise. But ye anyway like you said ddp i shall try it in another comp when i have time:) but for now i shall go back to reading through the forums trying to help people :) makes you feel real good when you find out that you have helped somebody do something they were really stuck with lol anyway speka in a bit

lol well i dont use them anymore its just that this is something that costs a lot fo money to buy if i had to buy it again. I had a cd with it on but lost the cd but i thought to myself lukily i had made back ups on floppy disks (Bear in mind that this was a few years back when i didnt have a cd burner or anything on my old comp) so i thought it would be a gud idea to back it up considerin it costs a lot to buy so i used some floppy disks i had lyin around. And now i would like to use the info again but i can nt find the cd and the first file is un-openable / un-copyable. i still have a sealed pack of floppy discs i bought like 2 years ago and have opend them as i never really trusted them (but at the time was my only option to back it up) ahh well suppose not verythin in life can go my way :) hehe thanx for the info Ireland
