ok what is up..... my xvid doesnt work anymore, i did a 100% clean install of xp and everything and xvid still isnt working. if the video is widescreen it plays flawlessly if it is a fullscreen video the thing studders like no other. if i leave it small windowed it plays alright sometimes, but fullscreen it studders, fullscreen widescreen video plays fine. ive tried everything i can think of new codec pack, new xvid install ffdshow.... i donno.. the only thing that has changed is that i upgraded from an old geforce2 to a 6800 gt oc......can anybody help?

    Dear reapergat.

I can't tell if you are trying to ENCODE to Xvid or transcode it to a DVD file. In any case if you're having problems with your video, it's probably better to transcode it to DVD file that will be no problem to your computer. I came across an absolutely free FABULOUS video converter that makes short work of Xvid, DivX, and a group of other formats. It will quickly and easily convert your Xvid to DVD (Video_TS) files that you can watch or burn to DVD.

I got such a response wanting the programs that I finally retraced my
steps and FOUND THE LINK to where you can download the program yourself. I found it at a site called [removed] You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven, because all of this freeware comes with instructions (guides) explaining how to do everything!

    Here’s the link: HYPERLINK

    No, it's not "nuff said"

Your proclamation that this is spam is utterly ridiculous and causes me to question your computer literacy. I have also respondded appropriately to the "monitor" who first questioned this. I have email respones from 72 members who went to the site and downloaded VSO DivX to DVD converter, a FREE program that destroys WinAVI and other useless programs by actually doing what it's supposed to do quickly and efficiently. ALL 72 members thank me profusely for making it available to them. Has it escaped your attention that members only see this as having come from Afterdawn? It is unbelievable that you guys are gathering this concerted effort to denegrate this fabulous find and by labeling it "spam", keep it from Afterdawn members.

no concerted effort here; we don't mind people helping and recommending stuff, but not if it looks like free advertising or pushing people to other sites..

if you want to help people, help them here. that's what this site is about.

lol... fun times... ok guys, im just trying to watch an xvid video, and it no longer plays correctly, mainly when the screen size changes, like it plays ok windowed but full screen it plays stuttered. i have an athlon 64 3800 and a geforce 6800 gt oc. i know i have the specs.... i just cant seem to get it working, i have tried so many different combos of codecs and filters that it will make your head spin. the funny thing is... this never used to be a problem, i even did a fresh OS install and it still is an issue. the only thing is the beefy vid card.... when i used my old 64 meg card i had no issues... with the 256 meg one is when i get the stuttering. newest drivers are used..... =(

thats a strange sounding problem..specially after the reformat..but,is the problem related only to AVI files...how does WAV files play.?? and ..you did mention codec PACK i noticed...I would segest removing any codec pack...just incase there is a conflict with other installed programs..specially if you are using a system ASPI "adaptec" and install only the Koepi's Xvid http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml that will handle Div as well..check your screen refresh rates try 70 hertz.
that is a strange one....what was the last change to your system since the problem developed..?? good luck..

@ptbsharp - just saw your rant in my shoutbox. Let's get this straight, a post or two i'd seen by you read like spam and also had what's considered free advertising. The Forum Rules are not of my doing so kindly drop the attitude, and adhere to the rules. I nor others have a problem with people helping, but pushing people to other sites or free advertising are simply not permitted.

    - that's your opinion but if you continue to argue with me instead of adhering to our few rules then you'll be able to accuse me of being on a power trip. And anyway, the only people on Forums who accuse people of power trips are the ones that seek to argue with judgements of Moderators..

Now let's have no more sillyness and get this thread back on track
