So what all do I need to get? I see there are hard drives, mod chips ect. So when you put the chip in does it already have the software on it or do you have to manually install it? Life would be so great if I had someone in my area that knew how to do it.

I dream the day where I could put my Daphne emmulator on my XBOX or even mame!!

99% of most reliable mod dealers do not sell chips with BIOS's installed on them, that is something you would have to do once your chip arrived.

You can read up on it here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/206722

I would recommend you determine what version your Xbox is, and order a solderless chip that will work with that version.

A Fast way to check is most consoles made from 2001-2004 is a v1.0-v1.5(till the 10th month of 2004 anything after that, you could possibly have a v1.6) anything 2005 is a v1.6 system.

You need to know your version before you begin modding for a few reasons, one you need to get the appropriate installation manuals for your version. Two you need to get the proper BIOS for your version, or the mod will not work.

I would recommend a XENIUM ICE GOLD SP SOLDERLESS chip for you, this is v1.0-v1.6B Solderless it is the latest chip on the market and it is very very advanced, Plus they are cool looking :)

You can read up on them here: http://www.xbox-modchips.com/xenium-gold-solderless.htm

As far as your emulators you can most certianly install MAME on your system, SNES, SEGA, NES, N64 emulators and much much more all on your xbox.
