what is the best video format for burning my dvds? I have asf, mpeg2, divx, xvid, etc. I want to be able to watch it on my dvd player. Should I convert them all to mpeg-2? or what?

You should convert them to DVD MPEG-2 using TMPEGEnc or a similar program. Have a look at the link below for some guides.

Thats was my first thought on the format. They have a really good guide here on afterdawn. But I just thought I'd guess rather than ruin dvds trying.
