Formating appears along with subtitle on video

    hello guys
    being such a noob.....i am asking yet again help from you gentleman or ladies
    when ever i play a movie the subtitles tend to appear along with the formating like <i> and </i> and so on....is there a possiblity to remoie this problem

    That would be because the player doesn't support such tags or rather doesn't even know they exist. mplayer's regular sub renderer doesn't support italics, so it ignores the tags.

    You would need to strip the tags using a text editor (even notepad would do: ctrl+h, replace "<i>" with "" & "</i>" with "" (you would need to repeat for <b> or <u>)).

    Basically just runs strip_tags(). If you are running FireFox, then as a bonus you would be able to see spelling mistakes.
