Formatted all drives, Error 21

Yeah, I accidentally formatted all drives. I was using UnleashX. I softmodded it using Ndure 3.0.

If I hit the eject button it boots to the MS dash. If I hit the power button (which boots custom dashes) it gives me an error 21.

How do I fix this?

Questions:

Is my HDD still unlocked?
Do I need to re-hotswap?
Is it fixable?

No your xbox is not unlocked or locked improperly it is simply modded incorrectly if you can boot a disc retry the mod installer. If you cant you will have to hot swap it and install it properly I suggest xbhdm this time.

EDIT: I forgot to say that it is almost impossible to brick an xbox from a soft mod, usually the most that happens is the process takes longer.

 

if your xbox boots the flubber screen (green startup screen) then it's fixable.

 

I tried hotswaping it and it didnt recognize it at all, although when my PC starts under IDE drivers it displays the xbox HDD when it is plugged in to the computer (running off xbox power)

Try this first before you hotswap the drive unplug the ide cable from the dvd drive this will turn the error 21 into an error 12 which makes it very easy to hotswap.

 

Exactly right, unplugging the ide cable from the dvd drive will make the xbox throw an error 12. This will unlock the hard drive and keep it unlocked durring the hotswaping process. If you want you can also use xplorer360 to access the contents of your drive. Though you want to be careful because there are horror stories about the hard drive relocking and corrupting the partion.

Remember before you softmod an xbox back up the eeprom. That is probably the most important step to modding an xbox. If you had the eeprom backed up you could unlock the drive and fix your mistakes without having to hotswap.

so hotswap again? I did it once. XBOXHDM also dosen't recognize it when I have tried hotswapping.

Have xbhdm running at the VERY first screen when it boots up.

1st: Remove the ide cable running to the dvd drive of the xbox before starting it.

2nd: Start the xbox and you should now see error 12 the xbox hard drive is unlocked at this screen and can now be modified.

3rd: Remove the ide cable running to the xbox hard drive and plug the master ide cable(your hard drive is usually on this cable) into the xbox hard drive.

4th: Now start xbhdm and it should find the drive now.

Do you have a mod chip, or are you using a softmod. If you're softmodding, you might have better results with SID5.

 

I get error 21 when I press the Power button, but no error at all when I start from eject button. I never get a error 12

It boots the M$ dash so why don't you just load splinter cell and run the exploit again?

 

I didn't use the splinter cell mod, I hot swapped it using this tutorial

I think you just loaded your softmod incorrectly. If you can use splinter cell (or any of the other games), I would try that. Otherwise, you'll probably have to hotswap again are reinstall everything on the hard disc.

 

I can play games fine, I can do everything an unmoded xbox can do, except get recognized by xboxhdm

 

You have to be much more specific than that. Are you trying to hotswap?

 

I tried hotsawping AGAIN and XboxHDM did not recognize the HDD.

It is still sofmodded, theres just no custom dash on it. I think

 

if it run ms dash try running a aid disc to install a dash like ux or evox. do you have any of the 3 games that can softmod the xbox? i know you said you didnt do the softmod this way but their are much better solution then to "hot swap" methods

 

I got a xboxcode 21.I am wondering if i can use a utilty disk to get back to dashboard.because i do not want open it.I clean the softmod off the xbox.now when a game in xbox said(damaged or drty)
or can i use a boot disk
