Hello, I'm trying to find some kind of program that would download a thread from a forum and save it so I can view it later. Hopefully in a format that can be viewed later without use of this software. I want to save some old threads for personal archives in case they ever become unavailable on the forums. Any suggestions will be appreciated. P.S. I would also appreciate any pointers to good software (as in free-ware & spyware free) that downloads all pictures from a website/link I provide it.
well it all depends how savvy you are.. and remember that downloading the contents of forums can be considered theft.. firefox.. file>save page as. for pictures.. it depends where they are hosted.. and how much of the site you want... again I don't agree with stealing content off others.. I use wget wget --wait=20 --limit-rate=20K -r -p -U Mozilla http://www.stupidsite.com/restricedplace.html
Well, I believe I should be able to save threads that contain large amounts of my own creative writing. But anyway, the "Save Page As..." is pretty obvious. Like I said, I'm looking for software and I'm not using Unix.
For downloading pictures/videos from a webpage nothing works better than the downthemall extension in firefox.
