I've read it a hundred times but I cant find the old threads. If someone can explain why Im fragging with chip installed, if I diconnect chip it boots to MSdash with d0 and BT wires connected.
Im just frustrated and cant think straight.Im installing a DuoX2 on a ver 1.1. I believe Ive checked all solder connections, chip lites up red but wont boot the bios.
Can you guide me in the right direction
    Thanks

It has to be a problem w/ your install, so you gotta go over all of your points again and make sure everything is connected to the correct place and that it is soldered nicely to the point. Make sure you are using the correct guide for your Xbox's version.

What Duo X2 chip do you have?

How are you installing the chip?

I am using a DuoX2 Blue with pin header install and right I am sure its my install its just one believes they have checked things over and over til it gets frustrating. Unfortunately I have read various Tutorials and read the threads and all that info begins to get confusing. This is not my first install, I have installed 2 X3s and afew solderless Xeniums.
First question, should remove everything and start from scratch? It seems I keep checking the same joints and they seem to look the same everytime I chk LOL!. Just sugest the right direction.
I will check for bridging but like I said the solder job looks clean
    Thanks for responding

Well, the DuoX 2 install is around the same difficulty as an X3. I don't know what to tell you I guess. If you have another DuoX 2 chip, you could try and use that one, because the chip you have now could be defective possibly.

The first time I ever installed a DuoX 2 chip, I installed it facing the opposite direction, and when I booted up my Xbox it fragged. I guess what I'm trying to say is double check everything once more...

PimpDawg can you plz help me out as well i pretty much have the same problem i recently installed my spiderchip and it FRAGS. Then we took out one of the wires just to see if the spiderchip worked. We ended up taking all the wires out and it still FRAGS. So we took the whole thing out and checked to see if the xbox was still working and it still FRAGS even without the spiderchip inside. So could you plz help me out i have an xbox v.1.6 and spiderchip v1.1. Thanks a lot.

What colors are you seeing when booting up your Xbox, red and Amber? Or is it doing a 3x reboot into a red and green?

Did you solder your spider chip in?

If not, did you happen to scratch the motherboard at all?

Check over your board, and make sure everything looks good, and that there are no possible shorts going on.

Worst comes to worst, you will need another motherboard/HD combo, which you can get for decently cheap.

It boots 3x and flashes red and green. We did not try to solder it and the motherboard isn't scratched at all. If we do have to buy a new motherboard/hd bundle how much would it be roughly. ALso i am getting sick and tired of the spiderchip and was wondering what would the best modchip for xbox v1.6 be?

Whenever it does the 3x reboot, it usually means your chip was installed wrong, or there are some broken traces somewhere on the board.

Out of all the modchips for Xbox, the spider chip ranks up there as one of the worst by FAR. So getting a new chip would not be such a bad idea.

You can get matching HD's and Motherboards for decently cheap, around $70-$80 on http://www.llamma.com or you can even check on eBay for cheaper prices. If you don't want to play online, you could just get a new MOBO and then get an upgraded HD. Otherwise, if you play online w/ your upgraded HD, you may get banned, as many do.

I would order the Xecuter 3ce modchip w/ the solderless xapter. You can get it on http://www.mod-chip.com If you do end up getting that chip, you can then check out my guide here: http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/x3beginnersguide.htm

Nice, I figured that there had to be something wrong w/ your install. Hopefully fixing that solves the problem.
