I have been trying to use my converter to covert and burn a dvd but each time I do the framing is off. It gets streched out and people look like they are in a funhouse mirror. I have tried going to the "settings" and "TV Format". I have chosen , automatic, full screen and widescreen and each time it has the same result. Can someone help me? I am running 2.1.3.160. Please help!
Could it be that your input file is damaged? What kind of file is it, and which converter Programm are you using ?
Sounds like the "Got" file is damaged or is a Video of a video - ie with a video camera in the cinema. Maybe I`m wrong but if that`s the case you wont get much joy from it.It will convert but.. If I were you I`d look for a replacement. You can check to see if your avi`s are ok with these software programmes.They`re both free and you can find them here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=12#12 (Digital Video Repair) //www.videohelp.com/tools?s=6#6 (AviCodec). With this one just drag and drop your file, and it tells you what kind of file it is, the quality in percentage etc..
The avi files are often dvd rips and play fine in media player. When I try to convert them i can see in the preview window that it is stretching the picture. Even when converted and burned I still can watch the film, everyone just looks like they are in a fun house mirror. I can only imagine there is a setting that I am missing. As I said, I have tried the "automatic", "full screen" and "wide screen" settings. Those are my only 3 options and I am at a loss as to where to go from here. The AVI files are fine. It is an issue with the conversion to dvd.
In ConvertXtoDVD click on the + window next to the video file in the top left window and then +Sourse Details and then on Video. At the right top of the program under Information and Details it will show the aspect ration of the avi file. Anything around 1.8 to 2.4 should be converted using the 16:9 ration under the TV settings and anything around 1.1 to 1.4 to 4:3. But since you said you already tried all settings it leaves me to believe you have a faulty copy of ConvertXtoDVD. Check out the aspect ratio of the original avi first as it may be screwed up if it's some add range not mentioned above or try another avi and see how that goes.
