    I thought I'd start this thread for anyone looking for specific free software.
    To begin with, you do not need to spends £££££ on software when there are programes out there for free.
    So this is what I currently use on my computer and which is available for free download on the net.

    CCleaner - Cleans your registry, uninstalls software quickly, Cleans you system and allows you to pick and choose what programes run on startup

    AVS DVD Player - Free DVD player

    AVG - Free antivirus

    CDBurner XP - Free CD Burning Software

    DVDshrink - DVD burning software - reduces the file size of the DVD

    DVDFab - Will rip a DVD

    Koyote Video Converter - Converts video's to a selection of formats

    GOM Player - Video playing software

    IZark - for Zip files

    Ad-Aware - Adware detection software

    Sygate firewall (not compatible with Vista) - an excellent free firewall

    GIMP 2 - photo / image software
