free to air digital reciever

    hi im a newbey to this site i have sky tv and im trying to find out is it possable to connect a free to air digibox cable to the sky satalite cable to use a digibox on a second tv any help would be great .......

    no, you will need a 2nd sky box, totally different beasts and encryption, cbale and sat totally different

    yes you can run a second box to receive the FTA channels or an old skybox without a card.
    you will need a spare port on your LNB or replace your LNB with one with more ports ie.quad lnb(see www.maplin.co.uk)

    unless I am reading it wrong, he wants to connect a FTA cable box to Sky sat system???

    thanks for the replies guys, sorry to be a pain but i have 2 eurovox\max
    spare digiboxes and im trying find out is it possable to recieve fta channels using the sky dish or do i need to buy a new dish for fta also could you explain to me a little more what lnb is,sorry im a novice at eletronic ..............

    no mate, you cant connect a cable box to sat, now if you pick up a another Sky box as cathal suggests above, you can do this, but cable into sat wont go, have a look at the link he gave below for options

    thanks again guys for all the info,is it possable to buy a fta satalite dish to work with the eurovox boxes ?

    I just told you, Sat and cable are different, would ya put petrol in a diesel car? no ya wouldnt, different engines mate, wont work. Cable box is for cable, Sat box is for sat
