Couple of years ago I got Freesat from Sky installed. They installed the SKy dish and connected a Pace box with it. I got 240 channels. Now I want to replace the pace box with Dreambox 500s. I have received the box and done the following steps - Configured Networking - Flashed it with Nabilosat Darkstar II DM500 Image. - Went into Staellite Configuration and selected "one single dish" and selected "Astra/Eurobird (28.2E) - Went to Auto Transponder and ran a scan. It found many channels. Now the problem is I have BBC, ITV, channel 4, E4, Sky news etc. But the i guess these are only around 30 or 40 channels. Most are repeated BBC and ITV. I cannot seem to find Music India, ARY News, Bloomberg or any of these http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/freesat-tv-choice-religion.aspx#buttons that I could view with the pace box. For troubleshooting I also downloaded/installed the CCam 2.1.3 and then ran a scan again but no joy. Please can someone guide me. Currently i just want to get this box running as my freesat box was running. Thanks in advance
Sorted now. The Nabilosat image could be the reason why all the services were not being picked up. Now that I have updated my image to Gemini Project 4.70 DM500 MaxVar I am now receiving all the channels
the services are stored in the satellites.xml file in /var/etc. Each image based on its age has a sligtly up to date or out of date satellites.xml file. so its not surprising that the 4.70 image is better as it is only recently released
Yes I figured the location out of the xml file. Thanks Would you know where to find updated satellies.xml and channels list from?
to be honest the latest images have the latest files. I usually use lyngsat.com to get the most up to date information

some images may not have all the frequencies i found this is the case with nabilosat darkstar 11 image but its easy to fix ,one way is to get an up to date satellite .xml file and ftp it in to your box or simply press menu on your remote ,press number 6 (setup) , choose searvice searching ,choose transponder edit ,you should see astra/eurobird 28.2east highlighted in red ,and sat will be highlighted in red also ,now press the right arrow on your remote and add is highlighted in red ,press ok button and you will see frequency and polarity etc . enter the frequency/polarity/fec/symbol rate and press green to save ,repeat the process and add all the missing frequencies . when all the frequencies are add exit and save and then do a scan for channels . you can find all the frequecies here http://flysat.com/28east.php ,check them with the list on your tv screen and add the ones that are missing .
