I'm coming across loads of bugs in TMPGEnc Plus v2.521.58.169 and it usually fails when encoding mpeg2 files (from avi) via 2 pass VBR on the second pass which is very annoying!

Are there any freeware alternatives that I should consider for converting avi files to mpeg 2?

I've looked at ReMPEG2 but don't like the interface at all!

Also from My experience I have found that you can achieve the Same Quality or better when working with with good Quality source Files when useing the "Constant Quality" encodeing mode....It is harder to predict the File size but it takes half the Time....
