I've heard several programs mentioned being used for avi to dvd and am having a hard time deciding which to use. Is there any freeware to accomplish this? I am wanting to burn several avi files (episodes) onto one (1) DVD that will be playable in a standalone player.

hey huckypuck try WinAVI video convertor, so far its the best and easiest program to use but i have to tell u that its not free.
once you download the program you can either buy it or (register it).
I advice every1 to use this program, simply the best.

so far you're saying that you have several avi files, so u gonna need virtualdub program (freeware)to combine these files into 1 file and this guide will show u how to use it:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/virtualdub_join_avi.cfm
after that just use winavi video converter to convert your avi to dvd, a 1 click convertor.
