I thought my computers download speed was going slow so i thought i might try to do a System Restore on my HP Pavillion a1025c. You know, the one where it is non-destructive and just make everything fresh while you save your data. Well, when i did that, and restarted my computer, it got to the Windows loading screen and it just froze after the little blue dots went around a couple of times. I restarted my computer and got the same thing. so i did the system restore thingy again and got the graphics driver for my on-board graphics card. you see, i have 2 graphivs cards, an nvidia fx 5200 and an on-baord intel graphics controller. when i switched to the old graphics card, it worked so then i delted it and switched back to my newer nvidia. it also worked. but when i restarted, i got stuck at the screen again. when i restatred by holding the power button, i chose the last best settings in the windows has been shut down error page. it works but when i get to the desktop, it stays on for a couple of seconds then goes black. I try leaving it there but nothing happens. when i restarted the computer i right-clicked to go to the settings in display to see if it will say something but then the black screen of death doesnt come and i'm, free to use the computer. Any Help?
Most likely...the restoration process set the system back to the state when it was using the onboard video graphics. You might try, disabling the onboard video in the BIOS...start the system in Safe Mode, and install the Nvidia drivers for the 5200. For future reference, it's always best to know why you have to do a system restore before doing it. You may have had a simple issue to resolve to regain your internet speed that didn't have to resort to going back.
