FROZEN DVD/CD Writer

    I freely admit that I know pretty much nothing compared to the good people who frequent this site so that is why I am here... begging... :(

    About two days ago I was burning a dvd and it failed. I tried playing it and it played up until chapter 14 and just stopped. Now the whole drive is shot. It wont autorun anything... Music CDs, DVDs, Data discs... anything. I've tried a System restore but thats done nothing. I also tried searching for drivers but i fear its had it.....

    Does the drive show in Device Manager? If it does, delete it, reboot, and let Windows find it again.
