Members, I have installed MPT. I have successfully transferred a picture from my phone to my PC. This should mean that the two are speaking with each other. My problem occurs when I try to create a ringtone. I first put in a cd and select a track. I then use the selection tool bar to select a small peice of the song. I set my fade in/out and choose "save as". I name the file and choose to save it as an .MP3. I select save and get this error message "Failed to create file". I also tried a direct transfer to the phone and got this error message "mp.3 codec may be inappropriate or missing". I don't think this is an installation problem because as I said earlier I did transfer a pic from the phone to the computer. Any help or liks to help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dale
Ive never used mpt to do ringtone generation, Xingtone is a much better app for that, but MPT might work, I just have no experience with it. MPT in my opinion is a hunk of shi7, and I only use it for backing up my contacts. Hmmm as for ringtones I've posted a bunch of stuff that might just have the song you're looking for...search for my ringtone post. Ive heard u can even go to walmart.com and get 30 sec clips of just about any song out there...then u could use that as a ringtone on your phone. From your post, it seems as though your prob with MPT is in ringtone generation, not necessarily the transfer. First get a valid ringtone from somewhere like i've mentioned and see if mpt will even transfer it...that will rule out some of your issues
eskimonio, how long of video can you record on your phone since it's been customized? i wish i could do all that, im just afraid i'll mess something up in my phone...haha
Your Razr is not compatible with MP3's or certain mp3's. I also have a razr, and a mate tried to send a mp3 from his nokia to me razr using bluetooth. It sent all the data, and then told me that i couldnt play it, and said it was incompatible. I think that if you use the motorola media program (downloadable from motorolas webby - i think) it converts is (not too sure) so that the phone can play it.
