I have followed just about every tutorial I can find and I still can't ftp to my Xbox.

    XBox Settings:
    Setup Network: Yes
Use Static IP: No (I've tried yes as well)
    IP: 192.168.0.2
    Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    DNS: 0.0.0.0
    Setup Delay: 10

    PC Settings:
    Static IP set to 192.168.0.1
    Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway: Empty
    No DNS set.
    Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
    Password: xbox

I've tried many different IP address with my PC and XBOX. I'm using a crossover cable to connect my PC to my XBOX, and I have no internet connection when connecting to the XBOX .
When I look at the settings on my xbox when my PC IP is 192.168.0.1, the xbox says that my PC IP is 192.168.0.173 ( I assume under the settings screen on the xbox that the IP that you can't edit is the PC IP).

When I try to ftp to the xbox it just times out. I can't even ping it.

I've also tried this on another computer with an internet connection, however I was connecting it via a hub. But I couldn't get any ftp connection this way.

Can someone please help me! I'm going insane here.

    thanks

I use a router to connect to my xbox. But I modded a friends a while back, he used a cross over cable. I think this is what we tried to get it working.

    IP: 192.168.0.1
    Gateway: 255.255.255.0

    Xbox:
    Setup Network: Yes
    Static IP: Yes
    Xbox IP: 192.168.0.2
    Gateway: 255.255.255.0
Accept Incoming Connections (PC ADDRESS): 192.168.0.1

    1) Open NETWORK CONNECTIONS in the Control Panel - Bring up the properties of your Local Area Connection (If you do not have this icon then set up a LAN using the wizard)

    2) Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties

    3) Select "Use following IP address" and enter:
    IP: 192.168.1.4
    SUB: 255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1

    4) Press OK

    5) Connect the crossover network cable to your PC and Xbox

    6) Boot up your Xbox and check the IP settings. Your IP should be fixed and use the following data:
    IP: 192.168.1.5
    SUB: 255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1

    7) Save the settings (scroll down to the bottom) and reboot the Xbox. Leave it sitting on the EvoX main screen once it has rebooted.

    8) Load up Flash FXP on the PC and enter the same details that you used on the Xbox into the connect screen.

You could try this and see if it helps you.
