i am trying to softmod halo on my xbox, i am using terminal from a mac and everything seems to run smoothly until i connect, this is what it looks like ftp> ftp xxx.xxx.x.xxx Connected to xxx.xxx.x.xxx. 220 Please enter your login name now. Name (xxx.xxx.x.xxx:lizread): xbox 331 Password required for xbox. Password: 230 User xbox logged in , proceed. Remote system type is UNIX. Using binary mode to transfer files. ftp> once this happens i dont have a clue what to do? wtf is binary mode and how do i use it to transfer files, googling for the awnser seems to be a lost cause so if anyone has any helpfull tips i would be extremely greatfull
ok when you go to the mod dash the ip will be at the bottom right side of the screen and you put the ip where it says server or url. then for password and user name put xbox its the default. then just press connect. if your xbox is connected to a rouder then go to settings then network change it from Static to DHCP. if your xbox is connected to your pc then keep it Static. and if is connected to your pc make sure you use a cross over cable not an ethernet plug. so it should look something like this server or url - 192.168.1.101 username - xbox password - xbox
