Hi all, I know you all are probs sick of hearing this buuut my freakin xbox wont connect to my freakin computer. Now I think I know what I'm doing but just in case I'm going to post everything I can think that might effect this. I have EvoX on a disc, it runs fine - boots fine - everythings fine. I want to get EvoX on the HDD, I can't do this because in smartFTP I get this: [bold][16:00:24] Resolving host name "192.168.0.2" [16:00:24] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 Port: 21 [16:00:45] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. [16:00:45] Client closed the connection. [16:00:45] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)... [16:00:45] Active Help: http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/index.php/58 [/bold] pretty annoying really... I'm using the password and username "xbox" In my EvoX.ini the network stuff looks like this: [bold][Network] SetupNetwork = Yes StaticIP = Yes Ip = 192.168.0.2 Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0 Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.5 DNS1 = 0.0.0.0 DNS2 = 0.0.0.0 SetupDelay = 0 SkipIfNoLink = No [/bold] and in ipconfig I get all this: [bold]Windows IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.5 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 PPP adapter {8680857A-BC1B-4440-B604-6F4A3785C6DA}: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 172.214.107.217 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . : 169.254.140.71 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : [/bold] I have a router but before I installed my solderless Xecuter 2.6 lite with the latest Xecuter BIOS as of 12/07/06 I had XBoxconnect and Xbox live, neither of which worked with my router so i used a crossover cable which i had from before the router days to try to FTP. So the basic setup is wireless net from my router to a USB wireless adapter (netgear) then a crossover cable from my network card to my Xbox to be FTPed through, this prevents internet sharing to the xbox because of some stupid IP configuration crap. All I want to do is FTP stuff to my xbox and eventually end up with linux on it. Can somebody please point me in the right direction.
