I can't figure out why I cannot back-up my store-bought retail version totally-legal Brute Force, the ftp transfer seems to fizzle out then die halfway through the transfer on certain folders even! Yes I have tried them one folder at a time (or file) Using ws-ftp pro, going through compaq hub to pretty solid pc running win XP thanks ahead of time!

Someone else had this and it seemed to be with the network speed. Check your PC and hub are 10/100 compatible and then if they are force your PC to run at 100.

If not then try 10, but it will be slower.

You can try using Flash but it probably isn't your FTP client halting mid FTP.

How to change your network card properties depends on what version of windows you are running...

If it's XP then Right Click "my network places" and choose properties, right click and properties for local area connection, hit the configure button to edit your network card details, goto the advance tab and find something that related to the network speed and duplex options, it's probably auto.

First try forcing it to 10mbps (half) and then if that works you can then try to up it.
