FUJIFILM 8x DVD-R Error?

    I'm using FUJIFILM 8x DVD-R to back up some movies. They play on one DVD player (newer) but not on the other (older). Please help!

    My burner is Sony DRX-700UL (8x DVD-+R).

    No sure why. I thought DVD-R played on all players. Is it true some players won't play any burned disk?

    many people are having compatibility problems with 8x discs. New technology does not always work with the old.

    Yes. I have an old RCA player, it doesn't just play ... it ruins my backups!!!
