i was playing NCAA College Baseball 06 this afternoon, and the game just froze up. i turned the game console off, and turned it back on and the game would not come on. i was just wondering if my dvd rom had gone out? what do you think? if the dvd rom has gone out can i just replace it with any other dvd rom? thanks i just got off the phone with xbox, and they told me it was a software, or internal problem. the power light flashes red and green, and the screen tells me that my xbox requires service, contact microsoft. they told me i would have to pay 80 dollars and shipping. can i fix this problem without sending it back to microsoft?
Were you playing an original or back-up? Also, for some reason it sounds odd that you'd get an error screen after playing a game... As for replacing the disc drive, only specific drives will work with it.
i was playing the original game. like i said it just froze up. turned off then turned back on, and it was like there was no disc in game console. then the power light started blinking green and red.
Do you still have a warranty on it? It might be worth just calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX as long as it isn't modded and you haven't opened it.
