hi. sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i was wondering, on my vaio laptop, when plugged in, it plays gta 4 on medium and runs smoothly, but when i unplug the charger my game struggles to get more than 8 fps on low/none settings, i have changed the batery performce in windows to max performace not duriation. why else could my fps be dropping dramatically when unplugged from charger? my thanks, grievsa93

You would need to disable Intel SpeedStep if an Intel and AMD Cool n Quiet if an AMD. Even when you turn the settings to max performance, unplugging the power will still cause your processor to throttle down its speed.
